Onboarding refers to the process of integrating a new employee into your company and introducing them to your company culture and policies. Effective onboarding enables these new hires to begin making meaningful contributions as soon as possible.
Onboarding is handled by the employer, a member of the HR staff, or a supervisor. In some cases, each of these people will participate in the onboarding process by introducing the new employee to different aspects of the company.
