The Role of a Supervisor in LMS Portals

LMS Portals is a cloud-based, multi-tenant Learning Management System (LMS) that allows our clients and partners to launch and manage a private, customized online training environment (portal) for each of their corporate audiences,

For each portal you launch, you have the ability to name any number of portal Supervisors. You can then grant a Supervisor some level of permissions when accessing the portal, depending on the role they will play in managing and monitoring that portal.

Assigning Permissions for a Portal Supervisor

When naming a Supervisor, the Permissions you can offer can include:

  • Naming categories

  • Adding/deleting/ editing Courses and Learning Paths

  • Adding/ deleting/ editing Users

  • Adding/ deleting/ editing User Groups

  • Sending/ receiving Messages

  • Printing/ downloading/ emailing Reports

Use Cases for LMS Portals Supervisors

The following are some potential use cases for naming Supervisors and assigning various levels of permissions to a portal.

  • Offering internal managers the ability to name Users and track their training progress.

  • For third-party training scenarios, naming a stakeholder manager within the client organization and offering a level of permissions that will allow them to run reports, as needed.

  • When working with a third-party training development organization, offering a level of permissions that will allow them to develop courses.
